ClimateLaunchpad Morocco Begins Its 2024 Bootcamp: Igniting Innovation for a Sustainable Future
The event marks the start of a journey where ideas are nurtured and groundbreaking projects are set in motion.
After the success of its previous editions, ClimateLaunchpad has proudly launched the 2024 Bootcamp today at StartGate, the innovative startup campus of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P).
This premier event is a pivotal component of the Climovation accelerator, dedicated to fostering high-impact climate entrepreneurship, as highlighted in a press release.
A Platform for Climate Innovation
Facilitated by UM6P-StartGate and GIZ Morocco, the bootcamp is set to welcome 18 meticulously selected startups. Over the course of four intensive days, from June 19 to 22, these startups will engage in personalized mentoring sessions and receive expert guidance. The primary goal of the program is to prepare these teams for the upcoming national finals, which will lead to the Africa regional finals and, ultimately, the global finals scheduled to be held in the Netherlands this autumn.
Ahmed Larouz, the lead for ClimateLaunchpad Morocco, inaugurated the bootcamp by introducing ClimateLaunchpad, the premier global competition for green business ideas. With a mission to combat climate change through innovation, invention, and entrepreneurship, ClimateLaunchpad operates in over 56 countries, making a significant global impact.
A Vision Rooted in Global Collaboration
Established in 2014, ClimateLaunchpad is a key initiative of EIT Climate-KIC, one of the Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs) set up in 2010 by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). This institution is part of the EU's broader strategy to promote sustainable economic growth and address the pressing global challenges of our time.
In addition to launching the bootcamp, Larouz welcomed special guests attending the event, including experts in cleantech and entrepreneurship. The expert lineup features Monica Avila Forero, Cleantech Hub's program manager; Ron Bloemers, CEO of START-U-UP; and Houda Boutoulout, senior investment manager and technical advisor at GIZ. These experts expressed their enthusiasm for attending the event and engaging with startups within the ecosystem.
Bridging Ideas and Sustainable Solutions
With industry leaders, experts, and passionate individuals converging, the stage is set for a transformative journey in climate entrepreneurship. This gathering not only marks the beginning of a bootcamp but also signals the start of a collective endeavor to address climate change.
As the bootcamp unfolds, it promises to be a crucible where innovative ideas are honed and groundbreaking projects are set in motion, paving the way for a more sustainable future.
